BMA Activities for the year (2011 - 2012)
Dance Class
Our aim is to encourage our children in cultural activities by taking part in local events which are organized by other similar groups or organizations. Giving opportunities for the children to participate in stage programmes and various cultural activities. A Kalasangham registered Dance teacher is available to teach the dance to our kids; on the day Malayalam class is held, interested members may contact the relevant area committee members for more details. The main aim of this project is to involve our children more actively within the community and promote the multiculturalism.
Malayalam Class
Malayalam language class for children within the community to learn or improve the bilingual language skills. Weekly 2 hours of session for children above 5years of age at the nightingale centre. This language class programme can make the children to get more active within the community. The Malayalam class project provides the community members with an opportunity to meet, discuss and promote Malayalam language and our culture with in our community. All children above 5 years of age are welcome to these classes; all children will also be given opportunities to participate in various cultural and academic activities that will be organized as part of the classes. The Malayalam class coordinator will be Philip Kochitty and the organizing committee members are Anila Kochitty, Baby Lukose & Saju John.
Sports Activity
BMA is promoting healthier life style for our members by encouraging them to participate in sports activities. At present only few members within the community are actively involving in sports activity. We are aiming to get involve more youths and senior members to participate in sports activities and to lead a healthier life. As part of the sports activity BMA is planning to arrange an "ALL UK BADMINTON" tournament in August to promote the sports activities.
